School Ethos and Philosophy

Although the principal aim of our school is to provide pupils with a broad and intellectually demanding environment, there are many other areas which are also emphasised. As an international institution which educates children from different ethnic, national and religious backgrounds, it is our mission to instil a sense of racial and cultural harmony in all classes. From the youngest ages children are taught about the most essential components of human nature: independence without selfishness, inner strength with compassion, and a tolerant, open-minded attitude towards others at all times. Furthermore, due to our small class sizes, all our staff are able to focus their attention on each individual pupil’s educational, social and personal needs.

We believe our school and its character and ethos are best described by those who know us best - the pupils and their parents:

ECIS membership

Our school has been accepted for regular membership of ECIS (European Council of International Schools). Here are a few extracts of our ECIS inspection:

A happy family run school with a very cohesive community of young learners being provided for to the very best of their abilities by a dedicated and hard-working team of teachers, assistants and administrators who all clearly had the best interests of their students at the centre of all that they were striving to do.

Throughout the school there was a bright and welcoming array of art work, all pupil generated and much of a very high standard indeed.

The whole school was very clean and well maintained and further added to the sense of a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

The school has a clear plan, is making excellent progress against that plan and providing a very sound education for all its pupils.

Parents' Comments

My daughter went to BISC for 2 years in Cracow and now she is in Wrocław. I consider that BISC provides very competent education for the children in our global era. Without any additional private lessons now she speaks fluently in English, Polish, and Korean. Recently she began to learn another language – French - in the school. She also likes very much extra-class activities (football club, drama club and recorder club). We are very satisfied with the education of BISC.

You have a wonderful school!

We would like to thank you very much for your ongoing support, high standard and quality of the education you have provided for Hanina and Hillel. We have really appreciated the extra attention and effort the teachers gave to the boys and the understanding they and all the staff have displayed regarding our unique and special needs- like the kosher food. We have really benefited and enjoyed the school and are regretably leaving the happy, friendly, warm environment known as BISC Wroclaw.
When we arrived in Wroclaw 3 years ago, we were so grateful to have found your school and to be able to enrol the boys. Hanina and Hillel came to school inexperienced, curious and ready to learn. You provided a safe, encouraging environment in which the children thrived and flourished. The excellent quality of staff, small size classrooms, provided the boys with amazing opportunites. Thank you!

Now I realise my kids had many special experiences at your international school. We miss you!

I appreciate everything that you and Mr Harris have done for me, by that I mean teaching me in Year 9 and giving me the opportunity to study at both your schools. You encouraged my interest in English and hopefully now, I can go on to study it further at university. Thanks to you I now know how to spell 'definitely' properly :)

These past four years have been incredible. Living and studying in both Krakow and Wroclaw has been a great experience for me, and I do appreciate every moment spent here.
