Anna WitańskaHello, dzień dobry, bon jour, privet! My name is Anna and this will be my sixth year with BISC Wroclaw. I was born in Wroclaw, but I have never lived in it. I graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (the English Department). I specialised in linguistics and teaching. As a complement to my education I did a postgraduate course for conference interpreters at the UNESCO Chamber in Krakow. Being a student, I was a volunteer in a school for autistic children for a couple of years. My first job was a teaching position in a Polish primary school. In Krakow, where I spent 9 years, I used to teach business English. To try something different, I opened and ran a shop with healthy food, teas and spices. It turned out that I make a better teacher than a shopkeeper... :) I have been married for 9 years now. My husband and I wanted to slow down our working life, so we decided to move to the country and this is how I found myself in Wroclaw, or rather in a nearby village. For some reason we did not manage to exactly slow down, but having a garden is certainly a comfort (and a time eater). My house is full of pets, as I adore - I am also a vegetarian and I try to live ecologically. I truly enjoy my job at BISC. Teaching is an interesting job, but teaching children is an adventure in itself. It is funny and exciting to see your pupils grow and develop. Every year is so different, but all BISC staff do their best to make it a year to remember. |
